SAP Extended Warehouse Management.
SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) is an advanced warehouse management system designed to optimize warehouse and distribution center processes. MYGO started as a think-tank of SAP EWM professionals. Our founder was a hands-on Platinum-level SAP consultant who implemented EWM for many large customers. That practitioner DNA runs through every project we deliver.
SAP EWM implementation: warehouse operations optimized from the floor up
SAP EWM provides an integrated solution for managing all aspects of warehousing, including inbound and outbound logistics, storage and inventory management, and value-added services. The platform delivers advanced capabilities for slotting and cross-docking, wave management, process-oriented and layout-oriented storage control, task and resource management, yard management, and advanced planned shipping HU (PSHU) proposal, handling the complexity that basic WMS systems cannot.
MYGO's EWM practice is our founding discipline. Having delivered more than 100 SAP EWM projects, we combine deep system configuration expertise with practical warehouse operations knowledge. Our consultants understand multi-level storage bin management, advanced picking and putaway strategies (wave picking, batch picking, FEFO, voice picking, cluster picking), and labor management because they have worked on the warehouse floor. We also advise customers on the dilemma between S/4HANA embedded EWM and decentralized EWM, using a selection criteria that combines system architecture decisions with the economics of operations.

Problems We Solve.
warningCommon Challenges
Basic WMS Limitations
Entry-level warehouse systems or SAP WM cannot support advanced requirements like cross-docking, value-added services, kit assembly, wave-based execution, or multi-level storage bin management needed for high-volume operations.
Low Warehouse Throughput
Inefficient picking paths, poor slotting, and manual processes limit the number of orders your warehouse can process per shift, creating fulfillment bottlenecks during peak periods.
Inventory Accuracy Gaps
Discrepancies between system inventory and physical stock lead to order cancellations, expedited replenishments, and loss of customer confidence in availability promises.
Embedded vs. Decentralized Decision Paralysis
Organizations moving to S/4HANA face a critical architecture decision between embedded EWM and decentralized EWM, with significant implications for system availability, feature scope, and total cost of ownership.
Offline Warehouse Requirements
Some warehouse environments need offline capability to execute operations when connectivity is unreliable, but standard EWM requires a live connection to the SAP system.

EWM Architecture Advisory
Our practice leads have advised customers on the embedded vs. decentralized EWM dilemma using a selection criteria that combines system architecture decisions with the economics of operations. We present the options with clear ROI for each path.
Optimized Warehouse Layout and Slotting
Analyze pick frequency, item dimensions, and order profiles to design optimal zone layouts and slotting assignments that minimize travel time and maximize pick density.
Wave-Based Execution Engine
Configure EWM wave management to group orders by ship window, carrier, zone, or priority and create optimized work packages that balance workload across warehouse resources.
Advanced Picking and Putaway Deployment
Implement the picking strategy best suited to your operation (wave, batch, FEFO, voice, or cluster) with RF-guided or voice-directed operator workflows and system-directed putaway.
Offline Warehouse Operations
Deploy MYGO's state-of-the-art accelerator that empowers your warehouse to execute end-to-end operations in offline mode with automatic synchronization of data when connectivity is restored.
Our Process.
Discovery & Assessment
Our EWM practice leaders initiate an exploratory and discovery workshop to craft the value proposition of EWM in your SAP ecosystem. We provide options for standalone vs. embedded deployment along with ROI analysis for implementing EWM.
Solution Design
Design the EWM solution including warehouse structure, storage type layout, process flows, wave strategies, picking/putaway rules, RF transactions, and integration architecture. Validate designs with warehouse operations stakeholders through process walkthroughs.
Implementation
Having delivered more than 100 SAP EWM projects, we apply our methodology and accelerators to enable quick value realization. Whether it is slotting optimization, wave management, labor management, or automation integration, our deep-pocket knowledge enables implementation in shorter cycles.
Test & Train
Execute functional testing, integration testing, volume testing, and RF device testing in the warehouse environment. Train supervisors, operators, and support staff using hands-on RF training on the warehouse floor, not classroom SAP GUI sessions.
Go-Live & Ongoing Support
Execute the warehouse cutover with parallel operations support and floor-walking consultants. With our global presence in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Germany, India, and Qatar, we provide continuous value-added services to keep the lights on and scale operations.

Common Questions.
SAP WM provides basic warehouse functions like storage bin management and goods movements. SAP EWM adds advanced capabilities including wave management, task interleaving, labor management, MHE integration, yard management, multi-level storage bin management, and complex storage strategies. SAP has announced that WM will not be available in S/4HANA beyond compatibility releases, making EWM the strategic warehouse solution.
Embedded EWM runs within S/4HANA and suits organizations with simpler warehouse requirements or single-site operations. Decentralized EWM runs as a separate system and is recommended for high-volume warehouses, complex automation, or organizations needing independent warehouse system availability. Our practice leads have a selection criteria that combines system architecture decisions with the economics of operations to make the right recommendation for your situation.
Yes. MYGO has developed a state-of-the-art accelerator that empowers your warehouse to execute end-to-end operations in offline mode with automatic synchronization of data when connectivity is restored. This is critical for warehouse environments where network reliability is a constraint.
Yes. EWM includes a Material Flow System (MFS) that integrates with conveyor systems, sortation equipment, and AS/RS through standard communication interfaces (TCP/IP or OPC-UA). For AMRs and goods-to-person systems, we build integrations through the vendor's API layer. Our team has integration experience with Dematic, Swisslog, KNAPP, Locus Robotics, and 6 River Systems.
A single-site EWM implementation covering core inbound, outbound, and internal processes typically takes 5-7 months. Implementations that include MHE integration, voice picking, or yard management may extend to 8-10 months. Multi-site rollouts follow a template approach with 3-4 months per subsequent site.
We have deployment experience with Zebra (TC52, TC72, MC93, WT6300), Honeywell (CK65, CT60), and Vocollect voice solutions. Our pre-built RF transaction templates include optimized screen layouts for different device form factors, and we configure device settings and network connectivity as part of the implementation.
We develop role-based training programs for operators, supervisors, and warehouse managers. Operator training is hands-on with RF devices in the warehouse environment, not classroom-based SAP GUI training. We train a group of super-users first who then assist with training their peers. Training materials include quick-reference cards for RF transactions that operators can carry on the floor.
